Kieren homers power Proctor
Mark Kieren belted two home runs and drove in six runs Thursday as Proctor stopped Cloquet 14-7 in a high school baseball game at Proctor.
Kieren, a junior catcher, blasted a three-run homer in the first inning and added a solo shot in the fifth. He also had a two-run single in the game.
Marty Running had two doubles and a single and scored three runs for the Rails, 7-6. Chris Kindgren was the winning pitcher.
Steve Thorpe had three hits and two RBI for Cloquet, 3-11. Russ Edin, Adam McGillivary and Mike Ketola also had two hits for the Lumberjacks. Scott Chartier took the loss.
