Duluth Central's McLain tosses 4-hit shutout

Pitcher Kevin McLain (2-0) threw a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and two walks to lead Duluth Central past Proctor 4-0 in a Lake Superior Conference high school baseball game Saturday at Wade Stadium.

Proctor pitcher Kyle Gustavson allowed just four hits and no earned runs.

The Trojans (3-2) scored two runs on a two-out error in the bottom of the sixth inning. Central senior Jonas Dean, who finished 2-for-3, knocked in two more runs later in the inning with a single.
