Recap for the 05/06/1999 game @ Hermantown

Preview Recap
Proctor Rails 3, Hermantown 1

The visiting Rails broke up Ted Swanson's no-hit bid, then picked up the win with a three-run fifth inning in a rain-shortened, five-inning game.

Winning pitcher Nik Watkins and Swanson both finished with two-hitters.

Watkins held the Hawks (9-4) hitless until the fourth when Swanson doubled and was knocked in by a J.R. Bradley single.

But with two on in the fifth, Erin Thompson singled in two with Proctor's first hit off Swanson. Luke Wargin added a run-scoring single to make it 3-1.

Rails earn win over Hermantown

A three-run fifth inning was all the Rails needed to beat Hermantown 3 - 1. The game was called after the fifth inning because of rain.

Erin Thompson's single in the fifth drove in two runs, while Luke Wargin's single added another to secure the win over the Hawks. Hermantown's Ted Swanson had his no-hitter ruined by the rally.

Nik Watkins, who had a no-hitter going into the fourth inning, was the winning pitcher. He was credited with two hits.
