Tom Downs' bases-loaded double keyed a four-run Denfeld fifth and the Hunters went on to defeat seventh-seeded Proctor in a North subsection game at Wade Stadium.

John Rodberg and winning pitcher Tony LePage each had two hits for the Hunters (13-7).

Nik Watkins drove in three runs and Erik Esala had two hits and scored two runs for the Rails (6-14).

Duluth Denfeld outslugs Proctor at subsections

The Rails' baseball season came to an end last week at Wade Stadium as Duluth Denfeld defeated the Rails 7-3 in a North subsection game.

Nik Watkins drove in all three runs for the seventh-seeded Proctor team. Erik Esala had two hits and scored two of the Rails' runs.

Proctor ended the season 6-14.
