Denfeld defeated Proctor, 12-3, in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game at Wade Stadium on Tues., May 23.

Winning pitcher Cody Brown allowed three runs on five hits and three walks in seven innings. He had three strikeouts.

Denfeld's Payton Budisalovich batted 2-for-4 with a triple, three runs, and an RBI, Logan Jasper was 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Brody Russell was 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Proctor took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Bryce Huffman led off with a single, stole second, advanced to third on a one-out single by Blake Koski, and scored on an RBI ground out by Ryan Lear.

Denfeld scored three runs on three hits, a walk, and a hit batsman in the third. Russell's single knocked in two runs and Jasper's single scored one run.

The Hunters plated three more runs in the fourth. Three walks and a hit batsman in the inning led to a pitching change with two outs. Starter John Aase (4-1 W-L, 1.99 ERA) picked up the loss. He worked three and two-third innings and allowed six runs (three earned) on three hits, four walks, and two hit batsmen. Jasper greeted reliever Jake Pioro with a two-run single to cap the inning's scoring.

Denfeld scored four runs in the fifth on one hit, two errors, and two walks.

Proctor scored two runs in the sixth to make the score 10-3. Luke Nordquist led off with a walk and scored from first on a double by John Aase, who made it to third on an outfield error on the play. Aase then scored when Huffman hit into an RBI ground out.

Denfeld scored two runs in the sixth to end the game's scoring. Two singles and an error loaded the bases with no outs. A sacrifice fly accounted for the first run, and a combination of a passed ball that allowed the runner to advance from second to third and another sacrifice fly resulted in the second run.
