DULUTH -- Proctor defeated the Marshall School 10-1 in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game at Wade Municipal Stadium. Matt Dolsen (1-1, 1.50 ERA) threw a complete game for the win. He allowed one unearned run on eight hits and three walks; he had five strikeouts.
Jimmy Merling scored two runs and became the first player in PHS history to record 100 career runs scored. Dolsen was 1-for-2 with two sacrifice flies and four RBIs. Ben Nelson was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Joe Carter was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Jake Malec was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs.
Alex Johnson was the losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs on nine hits and five walks in three-and-one-third innings. Tyler Pederson had two hits for the Hilltoppers.
Proctor improved to 4-3.
