PROCTOR -- Kevin Folman had 10 strikeouts and Kole Zuidmulder hit a game-winning home run as Hermantown defeated Proctor in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game at Proctor. Folman tossed a complete-game four-hitter and allowed two earned runs and one walk.

Jack Nikko was equally effective for Proctor. Nikko allowed two earned runs on nine hits and two walks with six strikeouts in a complete-game effort.

Proctor scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning as Jimmy Merling led off with a single, stole second base, and scored on a double by Ben Nelson. Nelson scored from second base on a passed ball. Proctor made it 3-0 in the second inning as Nikko led off with a walk and advanced to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Evan Scherber before he scored on an RBI single by Shane Gould.

Hermantown tied the game at 3-3 in the third inning on two hits, a walk, a hit batsman, and an error.

Zuidmulder's solo home run in the fifth inning was the go-ahead run and the Hawks added an insurance run in the seventh on two hits and an error. Zuidmulder was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Proctor dropped to 6-4.
