PROCTOR -- Proctor defeated Esko, 5-2, in a non-conference baseball game here on Thursday, May 20. Esko remained the home team as the game's site was shifted to Proctor due to wet grounds.

Winning pitcher Grant Walker (5-0, 2.94 ERA) notched his second complete game of the season. He allowed two runs on seven hits, one walk, and two hit batsmen with two strikeouts in seven innings.

Proctor took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run by Tanner Olson.

Esko tied the score in the third on an RBI triple by Noah Furcht and an RBI double by Cole Haugen.

Proctor scored the go-ahead run in the fourth when Carson Pavlowich, Olson's courtesy runner, scored as Josh Monreal reached on an error.

Sam Johnson scored an insurance run on a passed ball in the fifth, and AJ Reyelts scored on a fielder's choice when Sam Johnson stole second in the fifth.

Furcht took the loss. He allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts in five innings.

Conner Pavlowich, Kennan Reyelts, and Sam Johnson had two hits apiece for Proctor, 9-8.

The Rails are next in action on Tuesday, May 25, when they host Eveleth-Gilbert.
