PROCTOR -- Proctor defeated Superior, 2-1, in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game here on Tuesday. AJ Reyelts’s sacrifice fly scored Dylan Davidson with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Superior scored its run in the top of the seventh on an RBI infield hit by George Hansen with the bases loaded and one out.

Ryan Schubitzke (1-0, 7.00 ERA) pitched one inning and allowed one run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts for the win.

Proctor’s Grant Walker and Carson Pavlowich combined for six shutout innings.

Robert Olson picked up the loss in relief of starter Kell Piggott. Piggott allowed one run (unearned) on five hits and one walk with four strikeouts in five innings. Olson allowed one run on three hits with no walks or strikeouts in an inning and a third.

Reyelts and Sam Johnson had two hits apiece to pace Proctor (5-1).

Tristan Brennan, Hayden Smith, and Piggott had two hits each for Superior.

Proctor is next in action at home against Cloquet on Thursday, May 5.
