SUPERIOR -- Proctor avenged its loss to Rock Ridge on Tuesday by defeating the Wolverines, 10-7, here on Thursday in the second round of the elimination bracket.

Winning pitcher Nick Terhaar (5-2, 2.01 ERA) worked six and one-third innings. He allowed seven runs (four earned) on 11 hits, one walk, and two hit batsmen. He had six strikeouts. Tanner Olson earned the save by retiring the two batters he faced in the seventh.

Proctor scored first, with two runs in the top of the first on back-to-back doubles by Sam Johnson and Nolan McLeod. McLeod had an RBI and twice advanced on wild pitches.

Rock Ridge plated a run in the bottom of the first and took a 4-1 lead with three runs in the third.

Terhaar's two-run single knotted the score, 4-4, in the fourth but Rock Ridge answered with two runs in their half of the inning for a 6-4 lead.

The Rails took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth. The inning featured RBI hits by Olson, Blake Imhoff, and Tanner Ross before Ethan Carter knocked in two runs with a single.

Proctor added an insurance run in the seventh when Ross scored on a passed ball.

The Wolverines plated a run in the seventh on two hits before Olson entered with one out and a runner on second to close the door.

Sam Johnson led the Rails with three hits and two runs scored. McLeod, Ross, and Kennan Reyelts had two hits apiece. Ross scored three runs.

Proctor, now 15-8, advances to play against Aitkin in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at Wade Stadium.
