DULUTH -- Duluth Marshall defeated Proctor, 6-1, in a Lake Superior Conference baseball game at Wade Stadium on Tuesday.

Marshall took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on two hits, two errors, and an intentional walk. The Hilltoppers plated three more runs in the fourth on two hits, a walk, an intentional walk, and a sacrifice hit for a 5-0 lead.

Ian Gilles led off the top of the fifth with a double. Breckin Ross ran for Gilles. Ross advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI groundout by Blake Imhoff.

Marshall concluded the scoring with a run in the fifth on two hits, a walk, and one Rails error.

Losing pitcher Tyler Berglund (2-1, 1.81 ERA) allowed three earned runs on seven hits and six walks (two intentional) in five innings. He had four strikeouts. Reliever Wyatt Mineheine retired the side in order in the sixth.

Imhoff, Tanner Ross, and AJ Reyelts had two hits apeice.

Proctor, now 5-4, is back in action on Wednesday, May 10, when the Rails host International Falls at 1:00 p.m.
